Hello,

a bit about me:

My name is Natalie Anne Lyons. I am currently a student at Portland State University in Leslie Batchelder's Portland Freshmen Inquiry Class with mentor Dana Kunz. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and adore the outdoors. I love to express myself through the applied arts, theater performance, music and hobbies like surfing, swimming, rock climbing as well as shooting. I lifeguard and swim instruct year-round at two different pools in my area and spend my summers teaching children what it takes to be an Ellis & Associates Lifeguard with Portland Parks and Recreation. I am a Civil Engineering Major and interested in working with Portland's water systems in the future.

University Goals

There are four University goals that we focused in on in our Portland FRINQ class; inquiry and critical thinking, diversity of the human experience, ethics and social responsibility, and communication. Each term, we analyzed the assignments that best fit the goals, displayed the knowledge we learned, and our experiences so far with Portland State University. Each of these are located under the tabs at the top of this page. I also wrote reflection essays for each term giving my impressions from the class, the assignments that impacted me the most, and highlights and low-lights of college my experience so far. The links for each reflection essay, the original assignment, and the rough draft with peer review are in the columns below.
